I have a 1500 ford and the hydrolics(3 point hitch) simply quit working. Oneday they were fine the next they would not do anything. I have changed the oil but don't know what else might be wrong with it. I am fairly new with tractors and I need as much help as I can get. I know nothing of hydrolics but am ready to learn.Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

I had a similar problem with my Ford 1700. I took it to the dealer. Turned out the hydraulic filter was stopped up. I hope that is all that is wrong with yours. ....

It could also be a stuck (open) by-pass valve, which is usually caused when the filter (hydaulic) is clogged and the system goes into by-pass mode. Or else the by-pass (sometimes called relief valve also) is broken, the spring in them is notorius for just letting go, several times this has happened to me, it is not a major thing to fix. If you can't remember (or don't know when the fluid and filter were last changed, change it now, it can't hurt. Best of luck. ....
